Dixie Heritage News – August 6, 2021

If you heard the testimony that DC cop Michael Fanone gave before Congress on July 27th you probably have a better understanding of why cops are so commonly referred to as “pigs.” According to his own testimony, Officer Fanone was squealing like one as he was crawling on the floor of the Capitol Building on January 6th, “begging” for his life and not to be shot with his own gun. As big of a disgrace as the Capitol Police are to both our nation and to their profession, Fanone somehow manages to disgrace even that badge.

Anyway, there is a “conspiracy theory” floating around that Fanone and Kevin Seefried, the patriot who was arrested for walking the Confederate Flag through the Capitol on Jan. 6th and who has since turned himself into police and pled guilty are actually one and the same person. Another “conspiracy theory” floating around is that Seefried is actually an America-hating liberal who was masquerading as a patriot on January 6th.

According to Rudy Giuliani, neither report is a “conspiracy theory” but rather that Officer Fanone, who bears a striking resemblance to Kevin Seefried, dressed in “civilian clothes” and a Trump hat, and, according to script, walked the Confederate Flag through the Capitol for the media cameras who knew the script to photograph and video. Officer Fanone then appeared before Congress and lied under oath giving a story that was entirely fabricated, he was never in danger, he was himself pretending to be a “protestor” or “rioter” or “insurrectionist” because the entire January 6th fiasco was staged – it was all as fake as a three dollar bill.

Also of interest, Congressional Democrats are now suing Rudy claiming that he incited the “riot.” If that were true Rudy should be criminally charged. But then the rules of evidence come into play and of course there is no evidence. Hence, the “civil” proceeding.

Honestly folks, I don’t begin to know who or what to believe.

A Confederate monument stood in Franklin for 110 years before being removed on Saturday. We reported that the Council had voted 6-1 to remove the monument back in September.

County Judge Charles Dorsey is ordering the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors to remove the Confederate monument sitting outside the courthouse in a timely manner. So far, the Board is properly ignoring the Judges order.

Jason Peters, chairman of the Board, said they were very surprised when they received the order from the County Judge.

Peters said the county has owned the monument for more than a century and that the monument is different because it was given to honor local residents who served in the Confederate army. “We want to evaluate all of our options. I don’t have a specific thing I want to see happen. I think we need to do our due diligence and hopefully come out with the right decision,” Peters said.

Peters also said that the Board recognizes that by law they have to give the public an opportunity to comment before they can remove a monument – order from a black robed tyrant not withstanding.

During an open session meeting on Monday morning the Wilmington City Council voted to remove the Confederate statues located at Third Street and Market Street.

The statues will be given to a local chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

An Elk Grove Unified School District employee placed on administrative leave for having a Confederate Flag in his district-issued van in June is out of a job. District officials announced the news in a July 30 letter to parents and students:

“This behavior was unacceptable and that employee no longer works for Elk Grove Unified,” the letter read, adding that the district also took unspecified “appropriate action with employees who did not stand up to report this intolerable behavior.”

Sleepy, Creepy, Uncle Joe said “there’s no turning back” on the future of an electric auto industry Thursday as he signed an “executive order” setting a target for zero-emissions vehicles to account for half of all automobiles sold in the USA by 2030.

The little California mountain town of Greenville was described as a place of community and strong character, the kind of place where neighbors volunteered, colorful baskets of flowers brightened Main Street, and writers, musicians, mechanics and chicken farmers mingled. As of Thursday, nothing remained of the town.

No deaths or injuries were reported but the fire continued to threaten more than 10,000 homes.

The State will require all of its roughly 2.2 million health care and long term care workers to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by Sept. 30.

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom said last month he would require health care workers to either be vaccinated or submit to weekly testing.

But the new order issued Thursday by the California Department of Public Health does not give health care workers a choice. It says all must be fully vaccinated by the end of September.

Newsom tweeted about the new rule on Thursday, but has not said why he decided to change it.

A New Jersey woman accused of fatally shooting her husband earlier this week worked as an associate warden at Metropolitan Federal Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York where alleged Jeffrey Epstein madam Ghislaine Maxwell was being held until Maxwell was moved to another facility in June after her lawyer complained of vermin droppings and raw sewage at the lockup, according to the Post.

Antonia Ashford, 44, allegedly killed Roderick Ashford, 47, Monday at their home in Jackson, New Jersey, the New York Post reported. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the face, the report said. Police officers who responded to the scene at 2:15 a.m. tried to save the man’s life but they were unsuccessful and he died in the home, according to the newspaper.

Antonia Ashford’s arrest was the latest setback for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, whose facilities have seen chronic violence, management issues and staffing shortages in recent years.

On Thursday the Seattle Police had taped off several blocks of a quiet tree-lined residential neighborhood. Then a SWAT team stormed the neighborhood, frightened neighbors with “flash-bang” devices, and shouted into bullhorns. All of this to serve an appearance warrant to a person of interest in an ongoing investigation. When the person of interest came out of his home with his hands up the SWAT team literally filled him with lead, firing hundreds of rounds, murdering him in front of his neighbors.

Drive-by shootings are cleaner and quieter. It seems that even “defunded” the Seattle Police Department has the money and manpower to terrorize the citizenry and send a very clear message to the taxpayers.

A Yacht was sunk by a marlin that refused to be reeled in. Literally, the fish pulled the boat under off the coast of Ocean City. All passengers survived and the Coast Guard later reported that while the boat was lost all lives and cases of beer were saved.

As the above crazy story was happening a 17-year-old boy who was swimming in waist-deep water at the Ocean City beach was pulled under by a rip-tide. His body was recovered the next day. The Ocean City Fire Department, said the beach patrol “tried to rescue the swimmer, but he was swept underwater into the ocean in the rip current before they could reach him.”

I have noted in recent articles the impact that socialists and communists had in the history of this country well before the twentieth century–going all the way back to the 1840s. Lots of historians–so called–will seldom, if ever, acknowledge this. Even less will they make mention of the basic socialist foundations of the “conservative” Republican Party. This is history we are not supposed to be taught. And mostly, we aren’t. We have to find this out for ourselves by doing the homework.

One thing that does aid us is that more and more, the socialists are not bashful in admitting their impact on our earlier history. Where the historians ignore it, the socialists brag about it. Donnie Kennedy and I, when we wrote our book Lincoln’s Marxists, the first edition of which was called Red Republicans and Lincoln’s Marxists found this to be true. Incidentally, the first edition of our book is still available.

I just recently came across an article that was quite frank in what it admitted. It was published in August of 2018. In part it noted: “For the German-American Forty-Eighters, the best political instrument to ply their revolutionary ideals was the new Republican Party…As a result, the German Forty-Eighters became a significant voting bloc in the Republican Party.

Another German Forty-Eighter, Carl Schurz, a farmer and abolitionist from Wisconsin, helped pave the way for Lincoln’s presidential victory…Schurz mobilized a large part of the German-American vote for Lincoln in the general election…Unfortunately, the German-American reputation as fighters suffered during the course of the war. Schurz, who was awarded with a command by Lincoln, led German-speaking units at the battles of Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. His soldiers retreated pell-mell in those battles.” Germans supplied around 750,000 of the Union’s 2.5 million soldiers. That was in the neighborhood of 30%. Not all of those were Forty-Eighters, but a fair number were.

The article opines that the War of Northern Aggression would have happened whether the Forty-Eighters were there or not but it says “…the outcome might have been a bit different.

As for Carl Schurz, his propensities for socialist activities continued and he ended up becoming the Secretary of the Interior in the Hays administration. Pretty lofty position for a German socialist to occupy in the federal government. In our book Lincoln’s Marxists we provided a bit of information about Schurz and his time in the Interior Department. It was not Schurz at his best.

But even more harm was done by his wife, Margarethe Meyer Schurz. It was she who introduced the idea of kindergartens into America. She was a disciple of Friedrich Frobel, the founder of the Kindergarten movement. It is worth noting that, when the socialist revolutionaries were driven out of Germany and legitimate government was restored, kindergarten were banned in that country. When I first started this blog back in November of 2011 I did an article dealing with the socialist origins of the kindergarten movement. Like so many other socialist agendas it came into existence in the 1800s, not the 1900s in this country. And our children are not the better off for it. Yet, along with the rest of the public school movement we seem to have embraced it.

Now, with Critical Race Theory and the 1619 Project, along with the whole transgender movement some are beginning to see what the public schools have been doing to their children and lots of them don’t like it. Let us hope they realize they need to get their kids out of those indoctrination centers we call public schools.

It should, by now, have begun to dawn on people that a lot of the problems we have in this country were introduced here by European socialists of one stripe or another. And when they arrived they found home-grown American socialists who were more than willing to aid them in the destruction of our God-given liberties. That’s what socialism is really all about.

Progressives today have put patriotic Southerners in sort of a propaganda headlock. Because of slavery, our resistance to Civil Rights, the march of time, and the average American’s shocking ignorance of American history, they have been able to paint the American Civil War, our heritage, and our Confederate flag as wholly racist, and so far they have won this fight over definitions. Even generally solid Conservatives like Ted Cruz seem eager to sacrifice our heritage on the altar of appeasement. And why shouldn’t they?! The South will remain the backbone of the resistance to Progressivism with or without its potent and embarrassing symbol, right?

But this is a grand strategic mistake.

Why? Because to convince Southerners to strike the colours is to strike at the substance of the issue, that is, at the deep morale and instincts of the Southern man and woman. If the Left can ever get us to accept their view of history, or better yet, to forget ours altogether, then they take the first great step towards breaking that instinct in the Southerner to resist tyranny i.e. them.

And let’s all face it. It is the Southern man and woman’s instinctive resistance to the nonsense of Progressivism that has held the line against it since the founding of this nation. Progressives hated us then as they hate us now. And for good reason. We stymie and frustrate them so.

So how do we get out of this headlock that the media, the educational establishment, and both parties have us in? How can we holdouts, who in hindsight would not have surrendered at Appomattox, be heard above the din that declares Southern history, our culture, and our battle flag to be fundamentally racist? There were, in fact, two sides to the story, as there are to all stories. How do we get the mob to hear ours once again? First, we should acknowledge the truth that that terrible war was in fact about slavery. But it was about many other things as well and our ancestors were clear on why they were fighting. And on these points they were, in hindsight, right.

That war did in fact settle more than just slavery. It also settled the relationship between the several states and the federal government. And the states lost so much of what sovereignty they had that 107 years after our defeat, Roe v. Wade became the law of the land and the states could do nothing to stop the abomination. This is the unassailable proof that the war was also about States’ Rights.

And this little fact needs to be pointed out over and over again.

THE WAR WAS ABOUT SLAVERY AND ROE V. WADE and many other things besides. And so-called Conservatives like Ted Cruz and Governor Lee need to think twice before throwing our history under the bus. Appeasement will not work with the American Left and we need Southerners to find their old fighting spirit once again, and its source is our history.

Pat Buchanan is a paleoconservative political commentator, columnist, politician and broadcaster. He was an assistant to U.S. Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan. he was also an original host on CNN’s Crossfire. Three times he was a candidate for President of the United States.

Is Vladimir Putin a paleoconservative?

In the culture war for mankind’s future, is he one of us?

While such a question may be blasphemous in Western circles, consider the content of the Russian president’s state of the nation address.

With America clearly in mind, Putin declared, “In many countries today, moral and ethical norms are being reconsidered.”

“They’re now requiring not only the proper acknowledgment of freedom of conscience, political views and private life, but also the mandatory acknowledgment of the equality of good and evil.”

Translation: While privacy and freedom of thought, religion and speech are cherished rights, to equate traditional marriage and same-sex marriage is to equate good with evil.

No moral confusion here, this is moral clarity, agree or disagree. President Reagan once called the old Soviet Empire “the focus of evil in the modern world.” President Putin is implying that Barack Obama’s America may deserve the title in the 21st century.

Nor is he without an argument when we reflect on America’s embrace of abortion on demand, homosexual marriage, pornography, promiscuity, and the whole panoply of Hollywood values.

Our grandparents would not recognize the America in which we live. Moreover, Putin asserts, the new immorality has been imposed undemocratically.

The “destruction of traditional values” in these countries, he said, comes “from the top” and is “inherently undemocratic because it is based on abstract ideas and runs counter to the will of the majority of people.”

Does he not have a point?

Unelected justices declared abortion and homosexual acts to be constitutionally protected rights. Judges have been the driving force behind the imposition of same-sex marriage. Attorney General Eric Holder refused to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act.

America was de-Christianized in the second half of the 20th century by court orders, over the vehement objections of a huge majority of a country that was overwhelmingly Christian.

And same-sex marriage is indeed an “abstract” idea unrooted in the history or tradition of the West. Where did it come from?

Peoples all over the world, claims Putin, are supporting Russia’s “defense of traditional values” against a “so-called tolerance” that is “genderless and infertile.”

While his stance as a defender of traditional values has drawn the mockery of Western media and cultural elites, Putin is not wrong in saying that he can speak for much of mankind.

Same-sex marriage is supported by America’s young, but most states still resist it, with black pastors visible in the vanguard of the counterrevolution.

In France, a million people took to the streets of Paris to denounce the Socialists’ imposition of homosexual marriage.

Only 15 nations out of more than 190 have recognized it.

In India, the world’s largest democracy, the Supreme Court has struck down a lower court ruling that made same-sex marriage a right. And the parliament in this socially conservative nation of more than a billion people is unlikely soon to reverse the high court.

In the four dozen nations that are predominantly Muslim, which make up a fourth of the U.N. General Assembly and a fifth of mankind, same-sex marriage is not even on the table. And Pope Francis has reaffirmed Catholic doctrine on the issue for over a billion Catholics.

While much of American and Western media dismiss him as an authoritarian and reactionary, a throwback, Putin may be seeing the future with more clarity than Americans still caught up in a Cold War paradigm.

As the decisive struggle in the second half of the 20th century was vertical, East vs. West, the 21st century struggle may be horizontal, with conservatives and traditionalists in every country arrayed against the militant secularism of a multicultural and transnational elite.

And though America’s elite may be found at the epicenter of anti-conservatism and anti-traditionalism, the American people have never been more alienated or more divided culturally, socially and morally.

We are two countries now.

Putin says his mother had him secretly baptized as a baby and professes to be a Christian. And what he is talking about here is ambitious, even audacious.

He is seeking to redefine the “Us vs. Them” world conflict of the future as one in which conservatives, traditionalists and nationalists of all continents and countries stand up against the cultural and ideological imperialism of what he sees as a decadent west.

“We do not infringe on anyone’s interests,” said Putin, “or try to teach anyone how to live.” The adversary he has identified is not the America we grew up in, but the America we live in, which Putin sees as pagan and wildly progressive.

Without naming any country, Putin attacked “attempts to enforce more progressive development models” on other nations, which have led to “decline, barbarity and big blood,” a straight shot at the U.S. interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Egypt.

In his speech, Putin cited Russian philosopher Nicholas Berdyaev whom Solzhenitsyn had hailed for his courage in defying his Bolshevik inquisitors. Though no household word, Berdyaev is favorably known at the Russell Kirk Center for Cultural Renewal.

Which raises this question: Who is writing Putin’s stuff?

Dr. Ed is a pastor, college president, historian, the author of over 40 books, an in-demand public speaker, and the host of three radio shows.

He is an active lobbyist, tirelessly petitioning city, county, state, and federal officials on behalf of our Southern monuments and heritage.

He started Dixie Heritage in March of 2015.

On July 9th my TBR History Hour radio show was titled “Support Your Local Sheriff.”

I explain in the show why it is that police departments are political creations and as such will more often than not be the enemies of our history, heritage, monuments, and people. A Constitutionally elected Sheriff on the other hand, is accountable to the people who elect him and is therefore more inclined to serve and protect the people, I made the statement that “if you have a good Sheriff support him!”

One Sheriff we will not be supporting is Garry McFadden. He is the Sheriff of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

On Wednesday night there was a violent mob that marched on the sleepy town of Cornelius to demand the removal of a Confederate statue that has stood on private property for the last 111 years. leading the mob was Sheriff McFadden who gave a fiery speech.

This is your sheriff, Garry McFadden speaks at Unity Community rally In an extremely racist speech, the Sheriff comes right out and says that black people and white people cannot live in harmony. Perhaps that is why only a little less than 2 minutes of a very long speech has been posted online? What did the Sheriff say that was “scrubbed?

God Will Vindicate!
