Subject: Virginia Legislative Update/Call To Action

For the past several years, Democrats in the Virginia legislature have introduced a number of bills as direct assaults against our Confederate history and heritage. Bills to remove RE Lee from statuary hall, eliminate the state Lee-Jackson holiday, and remove the protection of our war memorials, were introduced and then each was killed in committee, because Republican control of both houses meant Republican control of committees.

Following last years’ elections, Democrats took control of both houses, and with that control came control of all committees. As expected, one of their first agendas was to reintroduce the anti-Confederate bills,

Yesterday, as expected, SB183 passed out of committee, 8-7 on straight party lines, and unless something changes it will pass in both houses, and Governor “Tear Em Down” Northam has promised he will sign any such bills that arrive at his desk. They have gutted the monument protection law, even changing the name from “War Between the States” to “Civil War” as an added slap in the face. Any locality will be able to remove ANY war Memorial for ANY reason.

You can view the bill here… lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?201+ful+SB183&fbclid=IwAR3QZovzawxapozKXpmQ2JVcXDcgM-qXdIluE5DHne_H9e0lnaTxT2Je_G4

Even though the situation may apperar to be a “lost cause”, we have not given up on this front. Working with a coalition, we have hired someone who has been working behind the scenes to find support where we might least expect it. This venture is costly, but we feel we must at least do everything in our power to try and prevent what some see as inevitable. Please contact me for more details if you would like to help with this endeavor.

In the meantime, we are making an URGENT request for all Virginia residents to contact your Senator’s office and urge him/her to vote against SB183 and ANY AND ALL bills that target our veterans. Use this link to find your representative and their contact info:

We ask that you call and email TODAY, as time is of the essence.

While we are not abandoning the fight in the legislature, we are also not failing to prepare for what may transpire. There may soon come a time that all that is left to do is fight, and we are ready.

People are upset about what is happening in the Virginia Legislature and with good reason. But realistically, we knew this on Election Day. The Dems are pushing their ultra liberal agenda full speed ahead.

Some were hopeful that there were actually a few Democrats left in Virginia with some type of moral conviction or backbone to go against the party radicals. From the looks of the radical votes so far on everything from gun control to abortion to illegal immigrants and every social issue in between, it is obvious there are none.

For those wringing their hands and asking what do we do, here’s what I am going to do.

Keep fighting.

So they may say no more Veterans Memorial protection and allow localities to tear down war memorials to appease communists…? So we take the fight to the local level. Stop them where we can, and if they do manage to remove any, put two up for every one that does come down. Plus flags.

So they may say the state won’t honor Lee and Jackson. So what? It’s not their responsibility. It’s ours. So let’s honor them with more new flags and an even bigger Lee-Jackson Day next year.

We don’t need the Governor’s permission to do what is our duty.

We are descended from men who would not be ruled. Let’s start acting like it!

For our Cause,

Susan Lee
