The Vicksburg Campaign
A Virginia Beach commission is recommending that a Confederate monument in the city shouldn’t be removed, but instead historical context should be added in a new park and a second statue should be erected to honor blacks.
The Virginia Beach Historic Preservation Commission made its recommendation to the City Council on Tuesday, The Virginian-Pilot reported. The plan also suggests looking into whether a museum could be built nearby to tell a more “inclusive story” of the community’s history. The committee estimated the park and a second statue could cost up to $320,000, but the group will ask the council for an initial $50,000 for the project, the newspaper said.
MEANWHILE IN CHARLOTTESVILLE
A group of artists and activists have erected a new mural in support of new legislation that would clear the way for Virginia localities to remove or replace their Confederate monuments. The piece was debuted Saturday morning at the Free Speech Wall on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall.
“We made this today because we obviously support that we want to be able to have monuments in our town that represent our values,” the mural’s lead artist Ramona Martinez said. “We don’t think that these Confederate statues represent our values.”
Two bills in the General Assembly, H.B. 1625, sponsored by Del. Sally Hudson (D-Charlottesville), and S.B. 620, sponsored by Sen. Creigh Deeds (D-Bath County), would amend the code to allow localities the final say on what happens to those monuments.
“The bills are in committee right now and they’ll be considered in the next one to two weeks,” Martinez explained. “So it’s really important that we got this mural up today because we want people to know about it. A lot of times it’s really hard to follow what’s happening in local government but this makes it really easy … it’s hard to ignore.”
The mural is on display now on the Downtown Mall.
ALSO IN VIRGINIA
The Arlington County School Board unanimously agreed to rename the former Washington-Lee High School in January 2019. The school is now called Washington-Liberty High School.
But the Washington-Lee High School Alumni Association has sued, asking a local court to void the change permanently.
In court documents the association claims that the board imposed their own political values on the community throughout the process, “without concern for the fact that the students and alumni would no longer have the prestige of the original name.”
The alumni association claims they suffered a loss of membership because of the name change.
The complainant goes on to say that the board falsely claimed there would be a lengthy period in which the public could weigh in on whether the school’s name should be changed.
A spokesperson for the school board said in an emailed statement that the decision regarding the name change was appropriate and the board is ready to vigorously defend against any legal claims challenging it.
The association is seeking the name change be voided and a permanent injunction to prevent any future changes. They are also seeking compensation in an amount determined by the court and the cost of legal fees.
The school board said this week they hadn’t yet been served the suit, but will file a formal response “if and when that happens.”
ESCALATION IN NORTH CAROLINA?
We recently reported that the North Carolina Sons of Confederate Veterans and their affiliated NC Heritage PAC were being looked into for a possible campaign finance violation. That “looking into” has now become official.
Bob Hall, who for years headed the left-leaning “watchdog” group Democracy North Carolina, had asked the State Board of Elections to investigate the SC. and the the NC Heritage PAC. Now he has filed an actual complaint with the State asking that the government dissolve the political action committee and also insisting that the State compel various elected officials, including key Republican leaders in the State, to return about $28,500 in donations.
Neither the State officials nor the SCV officers in North Carolina are responding to requests for comment.
NON-HERITAGE NEWS AFFECTING THE SOUTHLAND:
Anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety lobbying group will spend at least $60 million to support gun control candidates in 2020, leading the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms to declare “Last year he bought Virginia, now he’s trying to buy the United States.”
“Virginia was a test of Bloomberg’s buying power,” CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb observed, “and look how that has worked out. Now his gun prohibition lobbying group is promising to roll out the big bucks to buy state legislative and congressional races nationwide. He is weaponizing his wealth in an attempt to purchase the presidency, along with Capitol Hill and every state legislature in hopes of forcing every American to live under his dictates.”
Bloomberg’s surrogates are reportedly focusing on 13 states including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. The effort also is targeting Republican Senators Cory Gardner of Colorado and Martha McSally of Arizona for defeat.
“Gun owners cannot allow Bloomberg to buy their gun rights,” Gottlieb warned. “The Constitution is not for sale, no matter how much money some wealthy demagogue is willing to spend.
“If anyone thinks Bloomberg is scary as a candidate,” he continued, “they will be downright terrified if he were to actually win the White House and have a majority of state and federal lawmakers beholden to him for getting them elected. That kind of power should never be allowed. “We have watched Bloomberg’s money influence politics in Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Colorado and elsewhere with considerable alarm,” Gottlieb stated, “and now his Everytown lobbying group is not even being subtle about its intentions. Their goal is to oust as many pro-rights public officials as possible this fall, paving the way for the kind of government our forefathers threw off 234 years ago.
“This is a call to action,” he stated, “for every gun owner in the country to get engaged. Be sure you’re registered to vote at your current address, and make sure your friends and family members are registered. Start organizing get-out-the-vote efforts in your communities. Get involved in political campaigns and actively support candidates who support your rights, and above all, make protecting the Second Amendment your personal responsibility.
“Michael Bloomberg’s wealth does not give him the right to determine anyone else’s rights,” Gottlieb said. “America’s gun owners can’t let this country go on the auction block. There are no dollar signs on the Bill of Rights, not now, not ever.”
EVEN IN GEORGIA
We have been reporting about efforts in various states across the country where anti-gun zealots have been making a run on the Second Amendment.
States that were traditionally “red” states, where conservatives ran the show have started to turn purple, or in some cases blue. Virginia and Colorado are examples of two states which used to be solid that have now flipped.
In both of these states, liberal politicians are making a run at the right to keep and bear arms.
Enter Georgia. There have been several laws proposed that would impact the right to keep and bear arms in Georgia.
HB238 would require background checks for any guns purchased at gun shows, to provide that only dealers may legally sell, transfer, or exchange firearms at a gun show, and is known as the “Gun Safety Act.”
SB105 would prohibit the use of “bump stocks.”
HB435 would implement a so-called “red flag” law, which would allow family member or law enforcement officers to have weapons seized from an owner under circumstances such as domestic violence, drug use, history of violent behavior, etc. These laws across the country have raised concerns among Second Amendment proponents about the ability to seize weapons without the benefit of due process. Under Georgia’s proposed law, authorities would have 14 days to provide a hearing.
Whether any of these laws would pass in Georgia is yet to be determined, most of the state’s gun bills go through the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee, which is led by Rep. Bill Hitchens. His office number is: 404.656.7855
Lutherans to TX Governor Abbott: We are Paid to Take Care of Foreigners NOT Americans!
That is the response to Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s suggestion on Fox News earlier this week that groups like Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service focus their ‘Christian’ charity on vulnerable Texans.
Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, president of the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, said money for resettlement can’t be spent on homelessness or any other safety net programs. “The federal funding that nonprofit resettlement agencies administer limits its use so it can only be spent through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program,” she said.
While we have been very critical of Texas’ governor for his ongoing efforts to undermine and destroy the State’s heritage – we commend him for standing on the correct side of this issue. Abbott is the only governor who has said his state needs a break from the massive influx of illegal aliens, asylum seekers and refugees the state has received (like it or not!) for a decade or more.
He suggests that the ‘non-profit’ groups that are pushing refugee resettlement reprioritize and take care of Texans first, especially the homeless, because he says he does not want Texas to be California.
But we want to ask a BIGGER question. Why is, or how did Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, who by the way is running for Governor of Maryland, become the President of a “Lutheran” anything? Krish O’Mara Vignarajah is a HINDU! Her husband is a Roman Catholic. Lutherans should be running from this chick like she has the bubonic plague!
Last week’s Dixie Heritage Letter explained that the Southern Baptist’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission is sending millions to a MUSLIM extremist organization fronting as an immigration reform agency – and its also a Soros front group – and now we discover and report that the Lutherans have a Hindu chick on payroll to funnel their money in similar fashion.
“RED” RALPH’S WAR AGAINST THE SOUTH

We have already seen how the gigantic pro-Second Amendment rally in Richmond, Virginia has had, and will have, no bearing whatever on Red Ralph Northam’s plans to institute gun control/confiscation in Virginia. As I stated in a recent blog, Red Ralph would not care if 99.9 of the people in his state were diametrically opposed to gun control. He would seek to implement it anyway because gun control/confiscation is a major tenet of the socialist revolution he is seeking to impose on Virginia. That’s right, I said Socialist Revolution. Might as well call it what it is. No sense pussy-footing around it. Socialists almost never manage to take over or retain control of territories where people retain their weapons. The weapons have got to go so socialism can remain. Dwell on that pleasant thought just a bit so when someone in your state who is in favor of abortion wants to implement some form of gun control because it will “save lives.”
That being said, I maintain that Red Ralph’s war against the good citizens of Virginia goes even deeper than his efforts to disarm them. Not only does he want to disarm them, he also wants to disenfranchise them from their Southern heritage, of which gun ownership is one part. He can’t do it all at once, so he had to start someplace, and the gun issue was as good a place for him as any. People can’t defend their heritage if they can’t defend themselves.
If you look at the demographics in Virginia you will realize that the areas most in favor of gun control are those in the northern part of the state–those areas adjacent to Washington–the great cesspool of the country. Northern Virginia has, in effect, become a giant bedroom community for carpetbaggery from Sodom on the Potomac.
I can remember the first time I was ever in northern Virginia. It was way back in the late 1950s. My Dad and I had visited Washington, and I wanted to go over into Virginia just to see it. We went over into Fairfax County and talked to some of the folks we ran into there. They let us know, politely, that we were south of the Mason-Dixon Line and that they were proud of their Southern heritage. I doubt you would find much of that kind of sentiment in northern Virginia today.
When I look at the efforts in Charlottesville to remove Confederate statues and the efforts at Washington and Lee University to remove Robert E. Lee’s name from the school and Red Ralph’s agenda to try to remove the statue of Lee from Washington, and to remove Lee-Jackson Day as a holiday and replace it with “Election Day” I am forced to conclude that Red Ralph’s war against Virginia and its citizens includes much, much more than just gun control. Red Ralph is at war with Virginia and its Southern heritage and culture. These he hopes to destroy.
A basic mainstay of Southern culture is love of place and family, of caring for your children and raising them up to do what is right and good. Hence, Red Ralph is in favor of infanticide–killing a newborn baby shortly after its birth if, for some reason, the mother decides she wants to do this. Abortion is horrendous enough, but then killing them after they have been born has got to be a new low, yet Red Ralph sees nothing whatever wrong with this –as long as the baby is kept “comfortable” until its planned demise. Such a horrible idea is yet one more swipe at Southern culture.
So now you have a Democratic legislature in Virginia that is more than willing to go along with all this stuff. I have been informed that there were several districts in Virginia where the Republicans did not even field candidates but just left it to the socialist Democrats to win them by default. Laxity on the part of the Republican establishment–or a purposeful effort to let Red Ralph and his socialist cohorts capture the legislature and the State House? No one ever said all the socialists were Democrats. Before, during, and after the War of Northern Aggression there were lots of socialists who were Republicans. Donnie Kennedy and I wrote a book about them, Lincoln’s Marxists. Socialists, even today, are still socialists, regardless of party affiliation.
So Red Ralph’s war against Virginia includes much more than his attack on the guns of Virginia. It includes an attack on the history, heritage, and culture of Virginia. Virginians who are astute enough to realize this will need to devise ways of combatting what he is trying to do to your state that will encompass more than just the gun issue, not that you can ignore that issue by any means. But, in context, you must realize that he is also attacking your culture and you will need to address that issue and point it out to those who may not have thought along those lines.
HOW CHINESE GANGS INVADED CANADA. HOW CANADA’S POLITICIANS HELPED THEM
Dan Murray is the founder of Immigration Watch Canada, an organization of Canadians who believe that immigration has to serve the needs and interests of Canada’s own citizens. It cannot be turned into a social assistance program for people from other countries. It should not be a method to suppress wages and should never be a social engineering experiment that is conducted on Canada’s mainstream population in order to make it a minority.
Canadian diplomat Brian McAdam was posted at Canada’s Hong Kong consulate between 1989-1993. He became Canada’s immigration control officer in Hong Kong. He soon uncovered evidence of what he believed was a major scandal : Both Canadian and Chinese consular staff were selling visas to members of Hong Kong’s and Mainland China’s mafia as well as to Communist China’s intelligence service. The price, he heard, ranged from $10,000 to $100,000 per visa.
According to Postmedia reporter Don Butler, “McNabb had evidence that members of Chinese criminal gangs, known as Triads, were applying to enter Canada as entrepreneurs under the country’s business immigration program. And many were getting visas.
“What was very, very disturbing to McAdam was that he kept seeing connections of these Triad members to Canadian politicians.
He started writing reports — ultimately 32 — documenting the names of the gangsters who were getting into Canada. His reports provided details on murderers, money launderers, smugglers and spies.
The reports caused panic in the immigration minister’s office and at headquarters in Ottawa. McAdam alleged, “I was exposing incredible negligence. I was exposing incredible corruption. And I was exposing the flaws in our whole immigration system.
“People in Ottawa didn’t want to investigate anything. They just shut their eyes to everything.”
According to an Ottawa Citizen report, McAdam received dozens of threatening calls (from the Chinese Mafia) with messages such as “Stop what you’re doing or you’re going to find yourself dead”.
What finally broke him down, he said, was “the incredible feeling of betrayal from my colleagues”. One day, a Hong Kong police officer told McAdam that a Triad member whose phone was tapped, told the Hong Kong police officer that the Triad member had complained to someone in Canada’s immigration department. The Immigration Department official reassured the Triad boss, “Don’t worry about McAdam and what he’s doing. We’ll take care of him.”
And, says Mr. McAdam, they did “take care of him”
Macadam was shocked at what the Hong Kong officer said to him. I’d worked with these people for years.” “It goes to your very soul,” he says. “It is a spiritual crisis. It is a psychological breakdown.”
Immigration Canada offered him a good new job in Ottawa, supposedly in a new organized crime unit at Foreign Affairs. But when he showed up for work in 1993, he discovered the job didn’t exist. The personnel manager urged him to take a retirement package, though he was just 51.
Days later, he went on sick leave and never returned to work. His 30-year career in Europe, the Caribbean and Asia was over.
McAdam started preparing details about his experiences. In an 850-page manuscript titled “The Dragon’s (China’s) Deception” He writes : “I was mocked, demeaned and threatened in a hostile environment while dealing with some of the world’s most ruthless criminals. Staff in both Hong Kong and in Ottawa gave copies of my confidential reports about some of the criminals to the gangsters themselves, and that greatly put my life at risk. I received death threats for a number of years but no one was ever concerned about my safety. My big question (was) : Why did Canadian diplomats in Hong Kong and bureaucrats in Ottawa do whatever they could to destroy my work and myself?”
Around that time, he was formulating the idea of a formal investigation to verify and enlarge his findings in Hong Kong. By 1995, a dozen CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) and RCMP officers formally launched their first joint project. Its name was “Operation Sidewinder”.
In spite of dealing with his ill health, Mr. McAdam supplied the team with extensive documentation of China’s criminals and the Communist government’s ambitious program of acquisition, espionage and political influence in Canada and around the world.
The RCMP’s own more narrow investigation into Mr. McAdam’s discoveries — separate from “Sidewinder” — had begun in 1992. They probed incidents of corruption but limited themselves to locally engaged staff — not Canadians.
A seven-year investigation ensued. Seven RCMP investigators came and went. “As soon as one (Mountie) would (find something damning), they’d pull him off the case,” Mr. McAdam says. (That pattern continued.)
“I believe both probes (by the Sidewinder team and by the RCMP) had considerable political interference to shut them down,” says Mr. McAdam, “and it seemed to be coming from the highest levels.”
David Kilgour, then Liberal MP for Edmonton-Strathcona and secretary of state for Latin America and Africa, wrote persistent letters sympathetic to McAdam’s concerns. Mr. Kilgour sent his first letter directly to then-prime minister Jean Chrétien asking for a public inquiry — which Mr. McAdam had requested. Instead, the government ordered an RCMP probe.
Among the RCMP officers sent to Hong Kong was a 26-year veteran, Cpl. Robert Read, who, in 1996, spent months reviewing and corroborating many of Mr. McAdam’s findings. RCMP Supt. Jean Dubé pulled Read off the file in 1997 and later fired Read.
“They fired him to stop the investigation,” says Mr. McAdam.
In 2003, an RCMP external committee confirmed Cpl. Read’s findings. It found the RCMP “consistently demonstrated a reluctance to investigate” and ordered the force to rehire him. The RCMP refused. Cpl. Read sued.
Prime Minister Chretien ordered that all copies of the Sidewinder report be destroyed, supposedly to avoid alienating China and endangering trade and other relations with China.
One copy survived.
According to Postmedia reporter Don Butler, documents released in 2001 (under access to information rules) state that the RCMP believed the spy agency shelved the report because it was uneasy with its message that Beijing’s spies were working with Chinese criminal gangs in Canada.
According to an updated Globe and Mail report of April 6, 2018, which focused on the testimony of Canadian agent Michel Juneau, the original Sidewinder team culled some of its information from a Mainland Chinese intelligence officer who defected in 1997.
The man, who was a member of the United Front Work Department, one of China’s five espionage arms, went public with allegations that he had been ordered to go to Hong Kong to engineer a pact between Beijing and criminal gangs known as triads.
Mr. Juneau also pointed out that at the RCMP’s request, the original Sidewinder team produced a binder, brimming with what is known in the intelligence business as facting. It provided documented evidence, culled from secret CSIS reports, other government departments and agencies and foreign intelligence agencies, that supported every single line in the original report, he said.
Mr. Juneau noted that other Western intelligence organizations and a bipartisan U.S. congressional committee have since produced reports that echoed many of Sidewinder’s conclusions. “We were ahead of our time and that’s what probably killed our report.”
According to UBC Professor David Ley, between 200,000 and 300,000 Chinese entered Canada through the Business Immigrant program. Many of them and their families still live in Canada. It is extremely probable that many continue their criminal activities.
LIBERTY vs EQUALITY
Robert Linlithgow Livingston Jr. is an American lobbyist and politician who served as a U.S. Representative from Louisiana from 1977 to 1999. A Republican, he was chosen as Newt Gingrich’s successor as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. He as the Chairman of the Appropriations Committee from 1995–1999. During his final years in congress, Livingston was a strong supporter of Bill Clinton’s impeachment. He is currently a Washington, D.C.-based lobbyist.
Statist politicians — which means essentially all of them — believe or claim to believe they can legislate equality. As long as there have been governments, politicians have been dividing people into groups in order to pit them against each another as they squabble for government handouts, favors and special privileges all the while claiming they want equality.
Government panders to these groups, granting them a special status as minorities and providing them with extravagant subsidies. Minorities respond because they are conditioned to do so. Subsidies and racism and every form “otherism” are subtle forms of economic warfare between the middle class and minorities. All is a masquerade for the benefit of a wicked political system. This Machiavellian strategy divides the masses and provides cover for the government crime syndicate.
Since at least the 1970s, Washington congressweasels have been promoting the shibboleth that if one group or the other has a perceived disadvantage in outcomes, then government must step in to ensure that everyone attains equal results.
The politicians and government men believe, or claim to believe, that if all of their “groups” don’t have equal outcomes then something other than hard work, intelligence and seizing opportunities presented must be culpable. It needs bugbears to blame, and chief among them is “discrimination.”
The doctrine of equality and fraternity as a doctrine of liberty, as promoted during the French Revolution and as pushed by the government today, is a myth, a fiction and a self-evident contradiction. It is impossible to have liberty and equality. Yet, the unthinking masses still today accept this as the foundation of American democracy. On the contrary, the concept of human equality is basic to the destruction of human liberty.
Equality is the organism of racism and “otherism” as promoted by the government. Its purpose is the opposite of human liberty. It is the systematic subversion of human liberty. Further and deeper conclusions are that when we hold two contradictory thoughts such as liberty and equality, the result is double mindedness and unstable thinking (see James 1:8; “… a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”) leading to greater receptivity to the power of suggestion.
The closer we come to total acceptance of the doctrine of human equality, the closer we come to slavery. In reality, human equality is an impossibility in the real world. As an instrument of government propaganda, it is the perfect organism.
Politicians and government men will tell you that if they can only end discrimination, then everyone would have equality.
Democrats are now advancing a bill called the Equality Act. As with all government bills, this one does the exact opposite of what it claims.
It would modify existing civil rights legislation to ban discrimination against LGBTQ people in employment, housing, public accommodations, jury service, education, federal programs and credit. It would also essentially rescind the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and require Christian churches and organizations to accommodate the mental illness and debauchery of the LGBQT crowd in their wickedness and the transgender crowd in their mental illness — a blatant assault on religious liberty.
Whenever a group or class of people is given special “rights” (which aren’t really rights, but privileges), the real natural rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are turned on their ears and shoved down the memory hole. In other words, the rights of the one are secondary to the “rights” of the other simply because one subgroup of individuals has been granted special privileges that never before existed.
The freedom to discriminate is essential to liberty. It is not the role of government to determine which discrimination is acceptable and which is not — or to enforce its own form of discrimination to correct another. Though, historically, that is precisely what’s occurred.
You discriminate every day of your life in everything you do.
You discriminated when you chose your neighborhood and your house. You discriminated when you chose your job. You discriminated when you chose your church — or when you made the decision to not attend church at all.
You discriminate when you choose your friends. You discriminate when you choose your doctor (or did before Obamacare), your barber, your travel agent.
You discriminate when you choose your insurance agent, your auto repair shop, your in-home security monitor, your pest-control service.
You discriminate when you choose which movie to watch, which book to read, which electronic device to buy, which show to watch, which sporting team to follow. You discriminate in your choice of beer. You discriminate in your choice of car: American or foreign.
Life in a free country is about being free to make choices, choices based on your own criteria rather than one mandated by the state. Don’t like fried chicken? Stay out of KFC. Don’t like pizza? Avoid Pizza Hut. Don’t care for seafood? Red Lobster isn’t the only restaurant in town. Denny’s gave you lousy service? Stay away… and tell your friends.
Don’t like how Walmart compensates its workers? Buy your cheap Chinese junk from Target or Kmart — or the local mom and pop store — and your groceries from Publix or Kroger.
Don’t like it that Chick-fil-A’s president supports traditional marriage? Buy your chicken sandwich from Burger King. They’ve gone all in on “gay pride.” Don’t like that HGTV’s Chip and Joanna Gaines attend a church that defends traditional marriage? Change your channel. There are probably 175 more on your dial.
Don’t like Muslims? Stay out of the Middle East, mosques, Louis Farrakhan rallies and U.S. prisons — and Deerbornistan, Michigan. Don’t like Jews? Stay out of Israel, New York (especially the diamond district), Massachusetts, California and synagogues.
Don’t like kids? Avoid day cares, schools and playgrounds. And don’t have unprotected sex.
Don’t like blacks? Move to Montana, Vermont or Idaho. There aren’t many there.
Don’t like whites? Move to Detroit; Jackson, Mississippi; Miami Gardens, Florida; Birmingham, Alabama; Baltimore; or Memphis, Tennessee. You will see some, but they’ll be the minority.
That’s discrimination. It’s also called liberty, freedom of choice and, in the concept of natural law, freedom of association as guaranteed in the 1st Amendment.
Of course, America’s no longer free. It just has the trappings and name of a free country.
