CALL TO ACTION – CALL LAKELAND TO SAVE THE MUNN PARK CENOTAPH

 

ONE MORE CHANCE TO SAVE LAKELAND’S MUNN PARK MEMORIAL

 

For more than two years, THEY have been taking aim at the 1910 “Confederate Dead” memorial in historic Munn Park in Lakeland, FL.

 

The SPLC put it on their list of 61 sites in Florida and each shock wave (Charleston and Charlottesville) brought Lakeland closer to the fate of New Orleans, Tampa, Orlando and others.

 

Polls show the overwhelming majority of residents of the City don’t want the cenotaph moved, but the City Commission doesn’t care. We believe they have even broken state law and gone back on their own decisions to use $250,000 in public funds to get it out of sight.

 

We have filed a lawsuit, which was dismissed, but we are appealing it.

 

In the meantime, we would like to lob another attack into the ‘powers that be’.

I’m a historical tourist and I’ve been hearing about the City’s plans to move a historic monument. I just want you to know that if Lakeland moves the Munn Park Monument, I’ll never come to Lakeland or spend any of my money there.

SAVE SOUTHERN HERITAGE Inc. is a not for profit corporation that educates & advocates on behalf of Southern Heritage & History. It was started in 2015 in response to the knee-jerk Anti-Southern institutionalized bullying and “Eracism” levied against the people of South Carolina by Governor Nikki Haley, after she broke all previous agreements about how South Carolina’s historical veterans and their symbols should be treated and respected.

 

The Florida branch was activated in mid-January 2016, in response to three initiatives in the Florida Legislature that are part of a hate campaign led by Anti-American extremists, who refuse to respect the various cultures that make up the fabric of Florida’s society. Since that time, it has grown in membership and has been active in battles over American History and throughout Florida including the “We’ll Remember in November Campaign” that resulted in #heritagehater candidates to lose elections in Florida and others to win.
