THE COUNTRY IS BROKEN

ANTI-CONFEDERATE WAVE COMING IN VIRGINIA SCHOOLS

The Charlottesville City School Board voted to ban Confederate Flags and all clothing bearing Confederate imagery. ateful imagery at Thursday night’s meeting. But there is a MUCH bigger picture here because on Tuesday the school board attended a webinar hosted by the Virginia School Board Association. No doubt, as a result of this webinar we are soon to see a number of school boards across the Commonwealth enacting the same ban implemented in Charlottesville.

Our readers in Virginia need to get proactive on this one!

MEANWHILE AT A YANKEE SCHOOL

A letter was sent to a reader in Cromwell, Connecticut after their son wore a Confederate Flag cape to his High School’s “spirit week.” at school.

The Cromwell Superintendent of Schools John Maloney said this week the high school students were encouraged to wear red, white and blue. “Many of our students wore flag clothing along with draping flags as capes,” Maloney said in the letter. So what was the issue?

His classmates said it was all blown out of proportion by the school. Local TV News (Channel 3) even caried the story. When asked if there would be any disciplinary action beyind the letter taken the Superintendent said he “will not be commenting.”

POLICE SAY IT WASN’T A FLAG, ADMIN SAY IT WAS

University of Massachusetts police removed a sign at Melville Hall after receiving a report that someone had vandalized a stairwell sign by etching a ‘confederate flag’ into the sign.

ANOTHER COP AND ANOTHER “ISSUE”

A Mississippi man has gone viral for wearing a Confederate Flag tee-shirt while voting at an Olive Branch polling place during Tuesday’s elections.

Memphis’ Action News 5 identified the Olive Branch resident as Clayton Hickey, a former Police Officer. His T-shirt said “Mississippi Justice” and prominently displayed the Confederate Flag.

A black voter snapped a pic of Hickey.

Less than 24 hours later, Hickey’s employer Regional One Health, where he is employed as a nurse, told Action News 5 that they were investigating and would fire Hickey if they believed that he had conducted himself inappropriately. We’re not sure which of his two recorded behavior’s was inappropriate? Was it his freedom of expression or his exercise of his right to vote? Either way, the NAACP is demanding that the hospital fire the policeman turned nurse and Action News 5 is doing all that it can to fan that flame.

LAKELAND, FLORIDA COUNCIL ALLOCATES FUNDS

The Confederate monument’s days in Munn Park are now officially numbered – 83 to be exact.

City commissioners voted 4-3 to use $225,000 in red light camera violation revenues to pay for the monument to be removed by Jan. 31, 2019 and to give a full refund to those who donated to a private fund and want their money back. There was talk of using that money to add signage to the monument to explain the Civil War.

The City Commission voted in May to remove the monument but failed to allocate taxpayer funds for the project. Since then, people donated $26,209 to the city and $6,374 to a GoFundMe account for the cause – about one-seventh of what was needed.

The Confederate Monument in Munn Park in Lakeland Florida was erected in 1910. The Lakeland chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy received permission from the Lakeland City Council to erect a memorial to Confederate veterans in Munn Park. The group sponsored a number of fundraising events to pay for the monument, which was designed and built by the McNeil Marble Company of Marietta, Georgia. The monument was dedicated on June 3, 1910, the anniversary of the birth of Confederate President Jefferson Davis.

FLORIDA COUNTY ASKS VOTERS TO DECIDE

The Walton County’s ballot featured a referendum to remove the Confederate Flag from the courthouse. According to Louis Svehla, Walton County public information manager, the binding ballot referendum was unanimously approved by county commissioners and if in favor of the Flag’s removal, will go into effect immediately after the vote is certified.

Walton County resident Danny Glidewell ran for county commissioner advocating for the Flag is also a symbol of southern heritage.

With 21 of 21 precincts reporting, nearly 65 percent of voters agreed to continue to allow the Flag to fly at the courthouse in DeFuniak Springs. The referendum on the flag required a simple majority of the vote to pass.

Danny was elected in a landslide, recieving nearly 26,000 votes.

ARKANSAS SCV & UDC DEDICATE MONUMENT

Members of JO Shelby Camp No. 1414 in Harrison made the trip to Little Rock to honor Pvt. Daniel Winsett. He was one of many Southern soldiers who was black.

Winsett was born c. 1847 in Mississippi. At the age of 15 he served the Confederacy as bodyguard for General John Sappington Marmaduke and later for General Joseph O. Shelby. According to a few documented stories Winsett took part in the actual fighting at times.

After the war Winsett was active in Confederate reunions nationwide. He was a resident of the Arkansas Confederate home. According to the 1930 census he had been a resident of the home for over 30 years which was longer than any other resident. He was the only black Confederate residing at the home in 1930 along with 85 white veterans and widows. “Uncle Dan” as he was called was highly respected.

Uncle Dan died May 21, 1936, and is buried at an unknown location at Sweet Home not far from the Arkansas Confederate Home’s original grounds. His grave was unmarked and in a poorly maintained cemetery. The David O. Dodd Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy placed a memorial stone at Historic Mount Holly Cemetery in his memory. The SCV were there to assist in the dedication of the headstone.

NON-HERITAGE NEWS AFFECTING THE SOUTHLAND:

Alabama top court judge urges Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade

The Alabama Supreme Court unanimously ruled in the case of Jessie Phillips v. State of Alabama that “the value of the life of an unborn child is no less than the value of the lives of other persons.” In a concurring opinion, Justice Parker boldly called on the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“I urge the Supreme Court of the United States to reconsider the Roe exception and to overrule this constitutional aberration,” wrote the Alabama Supreme Court judge, and recommended that the Court “return the power to the states to fully protect the most vulnerable among us.”

The case came before the Alabama Supreme Court when Jessie Phillips, a man convicted of murdering his wife and their pre-born child, appealed his conviction arguing that he shouldn’t receive the death penalty because his 6-8 week pre-born child should not be considered a person under Alabama law.

The national significance of this case cannot be understated, since the question of personhood has been the lynchpin to the so-called right to abortion, ever since Justice Blackmun erroneously wrote in Roe v. Wade that children in the womb are not persons and therefore not entitled to any of the fundamental constitutional protections.

LAWSUIT FILED

Migrants from Honduras in one of several caravans marching through Central America and Mexico have filed a class action lawsuit against President Trump and his administration to stop him from securing the border against the thousands of migrants heading to the U.S.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of the migrants by Nexus Services whose Libre by Nexus company charges migrants a reported $420 a month to wear the company’s ankle bracelet while out on immigration bond. Libre by Nexus is reported to be under investigation by state and federal authorities.

BYE BYE JEFFY

“Another Confederate monument got taken down today,” is the punchline as late night comics hit the Jeff Sessions resignation. We at Dixie Heritage commend the President for finally calling for Sessions resignation and our only question is why did we have to wait do long.

CONSERVATIVE STUDENTS DON’T HAVE….
by Al Benson, Jr.

Al Benson, Jr., is the Editor of the Copperhead Chronicle. In addition to writing for Southern Patriot and other publications, he is a member of the Confederate Society of America and the League of the South.

It seems, on many, if not most, college campuses in this era of extreme cultural Marxism (political correctness) the only way for conservative and patriotic students to survive is to keep their heads down and their thoughts totally to themselves about anything political-and cultural as well. There is no one on campus that will go to bat for them if they dare to utter anything but the most recent interpretation of Leftist dogma.

There was a recent article on https://www.dailywire.com for October 17th of this year that dealt with the extreme liberal/leftist leanings of not only professors, but also of school administrators. An American Enterprise Institute scholar Samuel Abrams wrote a report on this that was published by the New York Times, of all papers. I don’t know how long the report is, but you can find it at

https://www.aei.org/publication/think-professors-are-liberal-try-school-administrators/

Abrams observed that: “I found that liberal staff members outnumber their conservative counterparts by an astonishing ratio of12-to-one. Only 6 percent of campus administrators identified as conservative to some degree, while 71 percent classified themselves as liberal or very liberal. It’s no wonder so much of the nonacademic programming on college campuses is politically one-sided. The 12-to-one ratio of liberal to conservative college administrators makes them the most left-leaning group on campus…” And you thought the professors were bad! Well, they were-and are-but the administrators are even worse! Keep in mind, many of those that identify as “very liberal” are probably socialists of some kind, and if they’re not they are kissin’ cousins. Whatever they are, they are on the left, and that fact alone bodes ill for any poor student that does not hew their line of class struggle, white privilege, identity politics, or whatever the Marxists are pushing for their agenda at the present.

Abrams noted that the most severe liberal to conservative administrator ratios were among schools in guess where-New England-where the Unitarian/socialist influence has been at work in this country the longest. The ratio there was 25 liberals to one conservative amongst college administrators. Years ago, I worked at one college in New England, with still another college right next door to it and so I saw students from both schools. You’d have been hard put to find any conservatives in either school as far as faculty. And if there were any they kept their mouths shut about it.

Even the Left Coast (known to the naïve as the West Coast) didn’t have a ratio that bad. There’s was only 16-1, while the ratio in the Great Lakes area was a mere 10-1. The other university I worked at was in Indiana and while it wasn’t quite as liberal as the one I worked at in New England, there was still enough leftism to go around. Abrams stated that the closest to a “balanced” ratio existed in the Southwest, and the liberal to conservative ratio there was still 2-1.

The Daily Wire article said: “Abrams notes that the severity of the bias ranges by two-thirds by average in public and Christian schools to three-fourths in private secular schools, but the bias is always overwhelmingly left-wing.

And Abrams has said: “While considerable focus has been placed in recent decades on the impact of the ideological bent of college professors, when it comes to collegiate life-living in dorms, participating in extracurricular organizations-the ever growing ranks of administrators have the biggest influence on students and campus life across the country.”

Washington & Lee wets the bed — makes deal with anti-history devil
by Charles Hurt

Charles Hurt is the Opinion Editor and a columnist for The Washington Times. he is also a regular Fox News contributor.

Washington & Lee University has – officially – wet the bed.

Tilting at snowflake machines, the once proud and serious university has decided to cash out its winnings from history in a hopeless effort to pay off the self-appointed history Gestapo now clanging at the gates with torches and pitchforks.

Just ahead of the fiery mob, university officials will take down portraits, lock museum doors and rename buildings on campus in order to protect their precious young adolescents from being exposed to some of the harsher realities of American history – as well as the founding of the university itself.

A slippery slope, indeed.

What will you surrender the next time they come in a hot fever?

If one is of weak constitution and apt to tilt with every latest prevailing wind, then these are tough times to be alive in America. Also, it is a grievous blow to the public when such people inherit important artifacts from our rich history together.

It would be so much better these days to leave history in place and learn from it. Venerate the brave and good and heroic figures – large and small – from history for their actions and accomplishments.

Really, what match are one child’s fragile emotions today, compared to so many great and mighty deeds from the centuries past?

There is always at least a bit of comedy when dealing with such unserious people.
University knaves decided, for instance, to remove portraits of General George Washington and General Robert E. Lee, the two great American generals for whom the university is named. Those portraits will be replaced with portraits of General Washington and General Lee – in civilian clothing.

So wait a second. Are we condemning slavery or the U.S. military? Are we erasing the Confederate Army or the American Army? Are we denouncing the failure of the Confederacy or the founding of America?

University President William Dudley, who would not have been worthy to dig latrines for either of the great generals, will soon be forgotten from history. Except, perhaps, for his brief effort to obliterate it.

Among the most urgent proposals: “Re-name Robinson Hall immediately. The hall’s association with slavery at Washington College – i.e., that the Robinson bequest included enslaved persons who labored at the institution until the institution sold them to others – gives special urgency to this proposal.”

Robinson Hall was named for John Robinson, who left his estate, including some 73 slaves, to the university. In 1836, the university sold the slaves and used the proceeds from that sale to build Robinson Hall.

To correct this grave injustice, Mr. Dudley and his spineless collaborators decided to – change the name of the building to that of a black man.

They are not tearing the building down or giving it back to the slaves who built it. They’re not calculating the price of the slaves they sold in today’s dollars and giving it to charity. Oh no, they are keeping the building and will continue to live large off the blood money of their generous benefactor.

But they will change the letters on the side of the building. And reorganize the letters so that they spell the name of a black man.

Oh my. What pandering fakers!

These people are not sorry. They just pretend to be. They pretend to be just sorry enough so that maybe mob justice will smile upon them.

Mob justice will declare that they have reformed and they have repented. No punishment necessary. Let them to keep all their ill-gotten gains, stained by the blood of slaves – at least for now.

Darwinian Evolution: Basis for Racism!
by Dr. Don Boys

Dr. Don Boys is a former member of the Indiana House of Representatives, author of 15 books, frequent guest on television and radio talk shows, and wrote columns for USA Today for 8 years.

Charles Darwin and his devotees were not only pseudo-scientists, but they were also radical, rabid racists! Ernst Haeckel, a contemporary and fanatical supporter of Darwin, was a German biologist who laid the foundation of racism and imperialism that resulted in Hitler’s racist regime.

Edward Simon, a Jewish biology professor at Purdue University, wrote, “I don’t claim that Darwin and his theory of evolution brought on the holocaust; but I cannot deny that the theory of evolution, and the atheism it engendered, led to the moral climate that made a holocaust possible.”

Because I want to be balanced, honest, and factual, I am forced to include here that the ravings against the Jews of one of the world’s greatest, most principled men, Martin Luther also added fuel to the fire. All great men do a few stupid things in their lives because they are flawed creatures.

I wonder what the current “moral climate” is doing to students in public schools as they are taught they came from animals and are without any purpose in life? Could the incredible number and depth of our social problems be the result of Darwinism? I am convinced this is so, for if one believes that life has no purpose, and man came from beasts, then dignity, fairness, kindness, honesty, faithfulness, honor, and justice have no relevance and importance.

A well-known evolutionist Sir Arthur Keith assessed Darwin’s impact on Hitler and Germany: “We see Hitler devoutly convinced that evolution produces the only real basis for a national policy….The means he adopted to secure the destiny of his race and people were (sic) organized slaughter which has drenched Europe in blood.” Keith asserted, “Hitler (was) an uncompromising evolutionist, and we must seek for an evolutionary explanation if we are to understand his action.”

In Hitler: A Study in Tyranny, Alan Bullock wrote: “The basis of Hitler’s political beliefs was a crude Darwinism.” Adolph was aghast at Christianity’s rejection of Darwin’s theory. Hitler declared that “Its [Christianity] teaching was a rebellion against the natural law of selection by struggle and the survival of the fittest.”
Hannah Arendt wrote in her 1951 classic, The Origins of Totalitarianism, “Underlying the Nazis’ belief in race laws as the expression of the law of nature in man, is Darwin’s idea of man as the product of a natural development which does not necessarily stop with the present species of human being.”

John Toland’s Adolf Hitler: The Definitive Biography says this of Hitler’s Second Bookwritten in 1928 but not published until after his suicide in his underground bunker within hours after his marriage to Eva Braun: “An essential of Hitler’s conclusions in this book was the conviction drawn from Darwin that might makes right.”

The unreasonable, unbiblical, unscientific philosophy of Darwin and his disciples laid a foundation for hundreds of years of hatred, barbarity, and unbelief reaching into the future and impacting millions of innocent lives.

If Darwin were alive today, he would be hooted out of the scientific community because he was not a trained scientist and because of his outrageous views about black people. Darwin thought that Blacks were closer to man’s ape “ancestors” than the white race! Wonder what the race baiters think of that?

Darwin’s disciple T. H. Huxley wrote, “It may be quite true that some negroes [sic] are better than some white men, but no rational man, cognizant of the facts, believes that the average negro [sic] is the equal, still less the superior, of the average white man….The highest places in the hierarchy of civilization will assuredly not be within the reach of our dusky cousins….” (I inserted sic in the above places not because he used the term Negrobut because he did not capitalize it.)

“Dusky cousins!” How would that be received down at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People? But it gets worse. Henry Osborne, who was professor of biology and zoology at Columbia University, said that Blacks were further back on the evolutionary ladder (nearer the apes) than Whites, and “The standard of intelligence of the average adult Negro is similar to that of the eleven-year-old youth of the species Homo sapiens.” Blacks aren’t human! Wow! The most KKK nut doesn’t believe that!

Edwin Conklin (died 1975), Professor of Biology at Princeton University and president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, said that Blacks had not evolved as far as Whites and “Every consideration should lead those who believe in the superiority of the white race to strive to preserve its purity and to establish and maintain the segregation of the races, for the longer this is maintained, the greater the preponderance of the white race will be.” Well, maybe that was the reason Ed never received a lifetime Achievement Award from the NAACP. Too bad.

The major haters of the last 100 years have been evolutionists. Men like Nietzsche (who often said God was dead, called for the breeding of a master race and for the annihilation of millions of misfits), Hitler, Mussolini, Marx, Engels, and Stalin were all outspoken evolutionists. Darwin’s dangerous book is credited for making mass killer Joseph Stalin an atheist and evolutionist.

Few people know Stalin was first an evolutionist then a revolutionist drenching Eastern Europe in blood. He was baptized after his birth in 1878 into the Russian Orthodox Church and at age ten enrolled in the Gori Church School where he found Darwin’s book on a shelf. He read it and began to doubt all religious truth, but at 16 he enrolled in the Spiritual Seminary in Tiflis. There he joined 600 trainee priests who lived at the seminary. His twisted evolutionary teaching helped turn him into a master monster of murder-killing 20 to 60 millions of people and spreading Communist hatred around the world.

E. Yaroslavsky, a close friend of Stalin, wrote about this in his Landmarks in the Life of Stalin, “At a very early age, while still a pupil in the ecclesiastical school, Comrade Stalin developed a critical mind and revolutionary sentiments. He began to read Darwin and became an atheist.” So, Joe Stalin attended two church schools and became an unbelieving Communist because of Darwin’s book. Found in a church school!

Shortly after The Origin of Species was published, Friedrich Engels wrote to Karl Marx, “Darwin, whom I am just now reading, is splendid.” About a year later Karl Marx, responded, “During my time of trial, these last few weeks, I have read all sorts of things. Among others, Darwin’s book of Natural Selection,…this is the book which contains the basis in natural history for our view.”

These people and their theories have been responsible for the slaughter of multi-millions of people, and the destruction of freedom all over the earth. It is amazing that so many liberals, radicals, fascists, communists, and the easily impressed worship at Darwin’s shrine.

Obviously, the foundation of racism, hatred, and violence in the last hundred years is based in evolutionary teaching of the last one hundred and fifty years. This, coupled with not understanding that all people are created in God’s image and are to be respected until they prove by their actions that they are rebels against God and society made racism inevitable.

FROM THE EDITOR

Dr. Ed is a pastor, author, public speaker, radio personality, lobbyist, re-enactor, and the Director of Dixie Heritage.

“Brazil above everything, God over everyone.”

Run-off election ends with Confederada-supported nationalist candidate Jair Bolsonaro and his running mate, Army General Antônio Hamilton Martins Mourão, receiving over 55% of the nation’s vote.

For the last 7 weeks of his campaign Brazilian presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro was effectively off the campaign trail. His appearances were limited to videos and an occasional live-stream filmed from his sick bed as he was recovering from a nearly successful September assassination attempt in which he lost 40 percent of his blood and suffered injury to several organs.

Adding insult to injury, just two days ahead of the run-off election, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo received a letter from Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and signed by more than a dozen House Democrats, calling on the U.S. Secretary to issue an official condemnation of the Brazilian front-runner. Among other things, the Democrat politicians temporarily suspended their cry-babying about so-called “Russian interference” into America’s last election just long enough to meddle in Brazil’s election by asking Secretary Pompeo to make it clear to Brazil that there will be “severe consequences” if nationalist candidate Jair Bolsonaro wins. Specifically, they asked that the Secretary inform the Brazilian nation that “U.S. assistance and cooperation with Brazil is contingent…” on Bolsonaro’s liberal socialist opponent being elected.

Noel Clay, a spokesman for the State Department, responded on behalf of the Secretary by saying that, “The United States looks forward to continuing our vibrant partnership with the candidate the Brazilian people elect as their next president.”

As Clay was issuing that statement to reporters in the U.S., the Brazilian stock market was rallying as investors were anticipating a Bolsonaro victory in the weekend’s election.

Just as Obama and the Democrats had destroyed the U.S. economy prior to the election of Donald Trump, 14 years of left-wing socialist government at the hands of the Brazilian Worker’s party (PT) had plunged Brazil, the world’s eighth-largest economy, into a near-depression. With over 13 million workers unemployed, unpaid pensions, and a growing deficit ballooning out of control, the nation’s investors couldn’t wait for the election to show their support for Bolsonaro’s promises to rein in the power of the banks, privatize State-owned industry, “pension reform,” tax cuts, and the general downsizing of the Brazilian state.

Brazil’s daily newspaper, Folha de S.Paulo, reports that executives from Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and Santander are being considered for posts in the Bolsonaro administration. The candidate himself has said that he will appoint Paulo Guedes, a University of Chicago-educated market-friendly economist, as the nation’s Finance Secretary. Guedes will implement Bolsonaro’ ambitious plan to revitalize the nation’s economy by putting every public company and property, including the State-run electricity giant Eletrobras and the giant oil company Petrobras, on the auction block. This privatization of the nation’s industry and transition from Socialism to Capitalism, is expected to raise at least $400 billion to settle the nation’s debt, restore pension payments, and create millions of new jobs.

One thing is certain, the Chinese will not be invited to the auction. In a recent television interview, the candidate responded that Brazil would not “privatize in exchange for anybody’s money. China isn’t buying in Brazil, China is buying Brazil! We are not going to leave our energy in the hands of the Chinese?”

Also key to Brazil’s economic revival is ending the nation’s collectivization of natural resources under socialism. “Brazil is probably the wealthiest country in the whole world, by natural means,” Bolsonaro said during a televised debate, “You don’t need to be a miracle performer to build a huge economy, you just need the government out of the way.”

Bolsonaro won the support of the nation’s farmers, ranchers, and Agri-businesses by promising to scrap reams of environmental regulations that, among other things, will allow for large portions of Amazon forest to be cleared and made available for new farms and ranches. Miners and logging companies also see tremendous opportunity from the proposed deregulation.

Brazil is already one of the world’s largest exporters of soybeans. If Bolsonaro can successfully open the undeveloped Amazon land he could potentially lead his country to become the world’s largest exporter of food. In the process of doing that, the nation could also become nearly energy independent. When Canada, the European Union, and several African nations, voiced their opposition to Bolsonaro’s environmental and Amazon proposals, he pledged to pull Brazil out of the Paris Accord on climate change if the international community attempted to use that instrument to challenge the nation’s sovereignty.

Real estate analysts are predicting an immediate surge in real estate sales. Vanessa Gomes, a property broker in São Paulo, reports, “We know what 14 years of the PT brought – high interest rates and high unemployment. Properties have been sitting on the market for two years. Bolsonaro is going to change that. I’ve already got clients just waiting for elections to be over to buy.”

Just as US markets surged following the election and inauguration of Donald Trump, lower interest rates, low inflation and a backlog of investments coming to the market once the election is over, the Brazilian economy is poised for a surge.

The campaign plank that may have most swayed ordinary voters was his promise to get tough on criminals. Brazilians saw 63,880 murders last year – more than any other country in the world. And it began when the Marxist workers party “disarmed” the country upon assuming power in 2003. Bolsonaro has promised to restore the people’s right to “keep and bear arms,” proposing new legislation allowing any Brazilian with a clean criminal record to buy up to six guns. The new law would also allow Brazilians to “open carry” their guns. He has also promised to appoint conservatives, such as Sérgio Fernando Moro to the Supreme Court.

Potentially preventing Bolsonaro from “mak[ing] Brazil Great Again,” is a fragmented Congress with 30 political parties. The newly-elected President does not have a track record of coalition-building, and he is coming into office on the promise to not engage in the “politicking” typically used to pass legislation in Brazil.
