Dear Mr. Edgerton,
My wife attended the Roanoke Va. Christmas parade and said that this wonderful black man was there representing the Sons of Confederate Veterans. She asked me if I would no who it was and you came to mind. If it was you there I personally would like to thank you for your commitment in helping tell the real story of our great country and what molded it. I am a 55 year old white man that tries to understand and to share history as it happened. I am a person that does not share racist views that many have of the Civil War. If we had more people such as yourself we could educate our society properly. I am a true believer that it was Gods Will that the War ended as it did with a Northern Victory. If not our country would have been set back another 50 or 100 years. I personally had both of my Grand Fathers fight for the Southern cause, one with the 28th and the other with Sturdavants Battery I have a great respect for both sides and for all that this terrible war affected. We have had Slavery from the begining of time and is a horrible plight of mankind.
I hope one day to be in your presents and here you speak with your great wisdom and passion for our ancestors.
Thank you and God Bless,
