Wayne Jones of South Carolina has organized a rally on the Patrick County Courthouse lawn, 101 Blue Ridge Street Stuart, VA 24171-0148, for TOMORROW, Saturday, September 12th, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.  to protest the removal of the J.E.B. Stuart portrait from the courthouse, and the statement issued by Judge Martin Clark giving his reasons for the action, in which his contempt for Stuart and all things Confederate are made perfectly clear.

Meanwhile, our ad ran yesterday in The Enterprise in Stuart, looking for land for roadside flags, and our phone has been ringing off the hook ever since.  We have several good leads that we will be checking out over the weekend, and are hearing from MANY local residents who are upset over what has happened in Stuart, and want to join the fight to return the portrait and/or remove the judge.

Details on tomorrow’s event, forwarded from Mr. Jones:

Rally to Stuart – Saturday – September 12, 2015 – 1:00 – 3:00 PM

I am asking that everyone join together in a peaceful assembly in support of having the photo of MG James Ewell Brown Stuart restored to its rightful place on the courthouse wall in Stuart, Virginia. Much has been written and said about this on Facebook, in the newspapers, and other media outlets in the past few days. This Saturday, September 12, 2015 will be the opportunity for us to have our voice heard. We understand everyone cannot attend. However, we need maximum participation to show the local people in Stuart and Patrick County we support them. Some have questioned our motive for supporting the citizens of Stuart and Patrick County and their objection to the removal of the Portrait General Stuart. The reasoning is simple. Our rights are slowly being eroded one small move at a time. A little here and there are not seen by many as a “big deal”. However, it is the culmination of all of the little things that are happening that creates the much larger problem. To some, this is a little thing. To many, this is a continuation of the rights that are being taken daily. Now is the time to let your voice be heard in Patrick County. It is imperative that we show the town of Stuart what true Southern Patriotism is all about.

I need to be perfectly clear on something. While many may choose to discuss other political events of the day, this event is about one thing. It is about the removal of the portrait of General JEB Stuart, its future, and the lack of respect that Judge Martin Clark has for our families and the manner in which they defended their homeland. I am asking everyone to refrain from making it about anything else. There are many events in politics and the world today that I object to. If you wish to protest or assemble for some other reason, do it somewhere else. I am an advocate of a calm and peaceful show of support in this case. I need all organizations to lay their feeling aside and pull together in a manner that would make our ancestors proud of us.

The request that was submitted for approval read in part:  “I am requesting permission to hold a peaceful and respectful assembly to honor the hero of Patrick County, Major General James Ewell Brown Stuart, on the Courthouse steps on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. We in no way wish to cause a disturbance to the Town of Stuart. We simply desire to have a show of support to those that are in favor of the Portrait of General Stuart being replaced on the Wall of the Courthouse where it has been for so many years. ”

The Patrick County Administrator, Tom Rose was contacted and approval has been granted by his office.

Thank you for the support shown by everyone so far. We look forward to seeing you Saturday.

God Bless and Thank you for all you continue to do in support of our Ancestors.

Yours to count on,

Wayne Jones
