My name is Andrew Schneider. I live in Pennsylvania and was born & raised here. I have a deep admiration for the South, Confederacy, and Confederate flag. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making and selling your merchandise. Unlike a lot of these ‘protestors,’ and I say ‘protestors’ because to me they’re nothing more than professional rabble-rousers, I was taught by both my parents to formulate my own opinion. Quick story, so bear with me.
My high school required students to complete a ‘graduation project’ before the end of the first semester of our senior year. During my junior year I still had no idea what to do for my project. My Dad suggested (he had studied the War extensively) that I do a project about the War, and that we visit Gettysburg. We did, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Once in college I began researching, studying, questioning, and writing, about the South’s part in that great War. I devoted my history credits (I was a history major) to studying the South. I even took a History of France class and did my research paper on French-Confederate relations.
I have defended the South and her honorable soldiers for half my life, and will continue to do so. Thanks to organizations like yours, I hope generations of Southerners, or Northerners like me, will be able to appreciate Southern history, and question the ‘facts’ they were taught in school.
