Northerners have wrong stereotype

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

I would like to see the Sons of the Confederate Veterans give recognition and honor to some very brave Southern citizens who helped to free the many enslaved people of the South. These people also helped to end the Civil War, which would have lasted longer and ended in more tragic deaths if it were not for their involvement. They are: William A. Jackson, Harriet Tubman, Mary Touvestre, and John Scobell, to name a few.

One other thing. Nobody today from the Northern states makes fun of anyone from the South. It is a general misconception. Yes, there are a few irritating folks from the North, but as a former resident of Rhode Island, I guarantee that people in the North are more concerned about their affairs than ours.

The qualities of Southerners are quite charming to those who come to visit the South.
