Florida BJ’s bans employees truck with battle flag
A Jacksonville Florida man has been forced to park his truck which prominently displays the Confederate battle flag about a half mile from his job because his employer will not allow the truck on site. BJ’s asked the man to remove the flag but he refused and says that he will be willing to lose his job rather than remove the flag.
The local store would not comment, but the national chain did respond. In a statement, BJ’s said that while it "does not identify any specific type of expression" in its employee guidelines, it does prohibit "rude, abusive, hostile or intimidating" symbols which, according to the chain, "strikes the right balance" in providing a good working environment.
