‘Stars and Bars’ still wave

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

As a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, I would like to take a moment to thank Kenric Ward for such a fine article in the May 3 edition.

“Southern pride rises over Tampa” was well written and very enlightening, not the usual chop job we get from most media.

The only mistake I found was a small one, well, large to us Sons of Confederate Veterans. You called the “Battle Flag” or the “Soldiers Flag” the “Stars and Bars.” The “Stars and Bars” is the “First National Flag”.
