Attention: Alabama SCV & State Reenactors

From: cscitizen@windstream.net

Fellow Alabamians,

This is a call to action to all our states S.C.V. members, Alabama reenactors, U.D.C & individual citizens. As you may or may not know, recently a forgotten cemetery in Bristow, Va. containing the remains of 75 – 90 soldiers of the 10th Alabama Infantry Regiment were discovered.

Attempts are presently underway by the town to raise funds for a plaque inscribed with the names of the known dead of the 10th Ala. Inf. Regt. buried in said cemetery.

It would be very fitting and proper for the Alabama Division of S.C.V. to help pay for this plaque to our boys as the town of Bristow & state of Virginia are providing this correctly marked, eternal resting place for our troops.

Secondly, nothing would be more appropriate than for the Alabama Division of Reenactors, or any other Confederate reenactors in our state, to provide troops for the plaque ceremony at Bristoe Station, Va. for this ceremony as the 10th Alabama Infantry Regiment C.S.A.

I will be sending further contact information as I receive it or better yet, feel free to contact this town’s government leaders yourselves & volunteer your services to honor our own. This would be showing common courtesy, decency & the proper respect towards our own Alabamians as Virginia is doing so.

Confederately,
Billy E. Price
Ashville Alabama
