Dear Mr. Edgerton:

I read your speech, as referenced above, on the Southern Heritage News & Views emails that are sent out periodically, and I must say that not only was your speech without bias, said everything that needed to be said, and that you are a gentleman with my ultimate feelings. I have your website in my "favorites," and what you are doing is most admirable!

I belong to the SCV, Battle of Olustee Camps, #1463, Lake City, but reside in Winter Haven, FL. I joined Olustee as my relatives (when my gg grandfather was two years old) moved to Lake City in 1858 from Newberry Co. SC. That was when they were giving away land grants and had to fight off the Seminole Indians at the same time they were setting up a household.

I just wanted you to know how feeling you brought out that I was touched and inspired so very much. That takes a man who knows the truth, as well as showing passion as well.

I thank you so very much for taking the time, energy and thoughtfulness to do this.

With my highest of regards,

Wiley Emmett Koon, Jr.
