Dear friends:

One individual made the decision that Confederate veterans would not be honored or allowed to be recognized in the Memorial Day Parade in Ironton, Ohio (the oldest continuous Memorial Day parade in the state of Ohio – the city of Ironton, by the way, is on the Ohio River right across from Russell, Kentucky).

I have spoken with the Mayor’s office, and the lady I spoke to was very sympathetic, and did not like the decision.  This matter has been reported in all three area newspapers (Ironton, Ohio Tribune, Ashland, Kentucky Daily Independent, and Huntington, West Virginia Herald-Tribune).

The Mayor’s Office phone number is 740-532-3833.  More information as I have it..
