Re: It’s time for Alabama to do away with joint Robert E. Lee/Martin Luther King holiday

Since you seem to be pushing so hard to separate Robert E. Lee`s birthday from M.L.K. Day then get the feds to do away with M.L.K. Day. After all, the State of Alabama has been celebrating R.E.L`s birthday for 108 years, long before M.L.K. was ever heard of and had his day foisted upon on Lees.
Or, do you just want to get rid of a day honoring Gen. Lee & get rid of all other Confederate holidays as well? If so, then there`s something deeply wrong with you denying others the same constitutional rights you would afford M.L.K`s honorees.
