Dear Brethren (hundreds bcc herein),
This is clearly what The Confederate Alliance is all about when we stress the need for Identity! Anyone considering membership in ANY organization had better ask that organization if they are Confederate and believe in the Restoration of the Confederate Government before joining.
The events involving Olaf are despicable but not surprising because they eclipse what we have been saying for years- there is a stark DIFFERENCE between a so-called Southerner and a Confederate and the quicker any & all realize this, the better off you & we will be.
Please read what has happened involving Olaf- herein and below.
The SCV was given the mantle of responsibility by our Confederate ancestors who fought and died for our Freedoms & Country to perpetuate the ideals of that Cause which NEVER died. Why the enemy’s flag is placed along side ours & allegiance pledged to it before any SCV camp meeting moves forward is beyond me??? That, in of itself, is a direct contradiction of purpose & founding.
Again, it’s All about IDENTITY and IDENTITY is always associated with Originality & Purpose.
I know there is an internal struggle within the SCV because many camps are un-officially aligned with us and have expressed their displeasure to me. To them I can only say, become Officially aligned with us because you will receive NO support from the ‘high-command’ as evidenced by their ‘past history’.
The SCV HAS BEEN split for many years. On one side you have the eat, meet & retreater’s who are happy when their ‘club forum’, & on the other hand the young turks who understand what the SCV’s original purpose was!
Please read the communiqué herein and afterwards, I would ask, what are you, Confederate or ‘Southerner’?

Olaf Childress is one of the great men of the South and a Christian. He stands by himself many times in order to tell the truth of what is going on in this world. I would stand with Olaf before I would stand next to a scalawag claiming kinship to our great Southern ancestors, many who gave their lives for the same exact issues that Olaf writes about.

Shame, shame on the politically correct, the grannies and maybe “moles” within the SCV leadership who had one of their supporters arrested in Montgomery…
Yes, Olaf Childress, the editor of The First Freedom newspaper was arrested apparently due to actions taken by the leadership of the SCV. His crime, Olaf was peacefully distributing his newspapers free on a public sidewalk to those willing to accept them.
Sure, the SCV held a permit for their February 19th event, but I wonder if they would have requested the arrest of a peaceful black protester? In my opinion they would not since it would not be PC. It was much easier to violate Olaf’s right to free speech.
If the SCV was responsible, which seems to be the case, permit or not, they had no legal control over any private citizen who was on the sidewalk distributing any type of free material out of the way of the parade. (Their own ancestors fought for such rights.)
Olaf Childress was expressing his opinions via the newspaper. Apparently, the SCV does not like the positions taken by his paper. Some of the leadership requested that Olaf stop distributing the February issue of The First Freedom newspaper which actually promotes the Jefferson Davis event on its front page. Who do you think spoke to the police?
Several members of the police and a swat team were used to roughly arrest Olaf. He was placed in handcuffs behind his back, pushed into a brick wall, placed in leg cuffs and taken to jail where he remained in solitary confinement for seven hours.
He remained in a cell which contained no furniture or a toilet. His clothes had been removed from him except for his shorts. Olaf is 78 years old, but he did not allow himself to be broken while he was forced to endure both mental and physical torment. To add to his harsh situation, the cops told him they did not have his wallet. This lie meant that Olaf was unable to bail himself out with his own money which was enough to cover the cost.
A man videoed the actual arrest and Olaf needs to contact him although he might have been a government agent. Do you know who took the video? Currently, Olaf at present is only able to receive his e-mails, because his out messages are being blocked.

Olaf is very forgiving and has stated that he hopes all of the Southern organizations will continue to function. He does not intend to sue the SCV. Olaf is to appear at 8 a.m. at the municipal court in Montgomery on March 16, 2011, on charges of disorderly conduct. This case will involve travel expenses, his time, lawyers and costs for a court reporter.
Those SCV members who had Olaf Childress arrested owe him at least an apology!
