Martin Luther King Day Parade January 16-Cross City, Florida

Confederates needed to march in Dr. Martin Luther King Day Parade in Cross City, Fl, Monday January 16

Please spread the word on this great PR opportunity. This is the 3rd year we’ve been invited to march in FULL CONFEDERATE UNIFORMS. This is a non SCV event. The local parade sponsor has invited us again to participate. We’ll have one Color bearer (CS Battle flag) followed by our contingency in gray. While this is not a large parade (Dixie county has only 7k residents) however; it’s very symbolic as to the meaning of Dr. King’s "I Have a Dream Speech" and presents many opportunities to open the door for dialog & education to folks who often are adversarial to our history.

I have a minivan & am willing to fill it up (6 capacity) for the hour 45 ride from Tampa up to Cross City. Contact Past Dixie Defenders camp Commander Joe Sparacino at  sparrow1865@bellsouth.net   or 352-498-3903 or 813-968-6154

Gather at Dixie County HS on US 19 at 11:15  Step off at 12 noon and ends at the Courthouse (Where the ACLU is suing the County to remove the Ten Commandments) Parade is about a mile and takes about 1/2 hour to march.
