Dear Friends,

As some of you are already aware, I have signed a contract with The History Press to publish my first book, presently titled Northern Virginia 1861: The Chaos of War.

I will cover Alexandria City and Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William Counties from January to December 1861 (remember at that time Alexandria and Arlington were part of Alexandria County). The First Battle of Manassas / Bull Run will be covered by someone else. Most of you know me from my articles in the Washington Times and the Civil War Courier, and my speaking in the Baltimore / DC / Richmond area, honoring the Ancestors who fought in that bloodiest War. I am finally making the big jump! I am asking each one of you – if you have one or many stories relating to Northern Virginia in 1861, please let me know. I will be sending out separate letters to ask permission of authors whose articles and books also cover parts of this topic. I thank everyone for your support in the past and look forward to your advice in my project.

I remain,

Your Obedient Servant,

William Connery
