Subject: Va Flaggers: Mechanicsville Rotary/Ruritan Christmas Parade
On Sunday, December 7th, the Virginia Flaggers will once again participate in the Mechanicsville Rotary/Ruritan Christmas Parade. This is a wonderful Richmond area tradition, with over 100 units participating in the two mile route, drawing huge, Confederate friendly crowds.
We would like to invite you to join us, as we forward the colors, represent our Confederate ancestors, and help ring in the Christmas season!

Virginia Flaggers Participant Information
We are in Division 7:
Division 7 Lineup: Eddie & Teresa Watts – Animal Motel – Shalom Baptist Church – Virginia Flaggers – Capt. Wm Latane’ Camp 1690, SCV – Edmund Ruffin Fire Eaters Camp 3000, SCV – Hanover Dragoon’s Camp 827, SCV – General W. C. Wickham Camp 2250, SCV – Martial Arts World Hanover – Team Jesses Angels for a Cure for Lupus – Hanover Habitat for Humanity – Cold Harbor Antique Mall -Gilman Heating Cooling & Plumbing.
All participants need to be at the Division 7 staging area between 1:00 and 1:45. You cannot park at the staging area. If you would like a ride to the staging area, be at the Mechanicsville Rec Center (1054 Elm Dr, Mechanicsville, VA 23111) by 12:30 pm. Otherwise, you will need to be dropped off at the staging area, or walk from the Rec Center parking area. There will also be shuttle buses running to the staging area.
The parade’s theme is “Memories of Christmas”. If you have period attire, please consider wearing it, or adding a Christmas touch to street clothing. Participants will have the option of walking with flags, or riding on a flat bed trailer/float with seating.
Please bring a bag of candy, a smile, and a flag, and join us!

Thursday, December 4th: Flagging the VMFA, 200 N. Boulevard, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 7th: Mechanicsville Christmas Parade. The Va Flaggers will join the Edmund Ruffin Fire-Eaters in this VERY Confederate friendly parade. ALL are welcome!
Tuesday, December 9th: 6:00 pm. The Va Flaggers will be making a presentation to the Va War Memorial in memory of Sgt. Cliff Troutman, and in honor of our Veterans. All are invited to attend. 621 S. Belvedere St., Richmond
Thursday, December 11th: Susan will be speaking at the December meeting of the A.H. Belo Camp #49, SCV, Dallas Texas
Friday, December 12th: Susan will be speaking at the Christmas gathering of the Major Robert M. White, Camp No. 1250, Sons of Confederate Veterans,Temple, Texas
Saturday, December 13th: Susan will be speaking at the Christmas gathering of the Middleton Tate Johnson Camp #1648, SCV, Arlington, TX
Monday, December 29th: Susan will be speaking at the Lee-Jackson Banquet of the NB Forrest Camp 803,SCV, Sanford, North Carolina . 6:00 p.m. The Steele Pig, 133 S. Steele Street. RSVP Lt. Commander Kevin Stone at firstname.lastname@example.org by December 20th.
Friday, January 16 – Saturday, January 17th, 2015: Lee-Jackson Day, Lexington, VA. We will be flagging Lexington and Washington & Lee all day Friday, and flagging and participating in the Lee-Jackson activities scheduled for Saturday, including memorial services for Lee and Jackson, and a parade through town. THIS YEAR NEEDS TO BE OUR BIGGEST SHOWING EVER! MAKE PLANS TO JOIN US… take a stand for Lee and Jackson in the town that has chosen to dishonor their memory and let them know that there are those of us who will not forget what City and W&L officials have done.
