Mike Tuggle: Open Letter to Judge Roy Moore
Dear Judge Moore,
I found your debut article on World Net Daily to be very inspirational, as well as on-target. I do believe, though, that America — that is, the vast majority of the people of this country — does indeed acknowledge God as the author of our liberties. However, the government in Washington DC has become so overgrown and out-of-touch that it is committed to nothing but its own power and prestige. Our legitimate principles and institutions are a roadblock to unlimited government power, as well as to its plans to reengineer our people and our nation as a secular, multi-cultural state.
As our Founders deeply understood, such an entity cannot remain free. That’s why DC is busily at war with all the legitimate institutions that make self-government possible, namely, the family, church, and our cultural unity. As John Jay observed:
"With equal pleasure I have as often taken notice that Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people — a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs, and who, by their joint counsels, arms, and efforts, fighting side by side throughout a long and bloody war, have nobly established general liberty and independence."
With the unity of our culture destroyed, with the organic institutions of our people ruined or reconstructed, the natural order and harmony that make unforced cooperation, and therefore, republican government, possible, then the only order will be that imposed by an authoritarian government. Those who are determined to remake the world in their image know this. Nothing is as threatening to a secular tyrant as the heartfelt prayer of a child, because here is a potential subject that will never be under his total control.
Prayer will never be restored by the Federal government. It was the Federal government that created the problems of public prayer and abortion by usurping the power of the States — and tyrants do not relinquish power if their victims can only say "pretty please." Only when we restore the vision of the Founders, that is, when the people of the States are again sovereign and can resist DC’s assault on their traditional liberties, can we restore the faith of our Fathers, and the freedom our ancestors fought and died for.
I look forward to your future contributions on World Net Daily. May God bless your efforts. MCT
