CONFEDERATE FLAG

Johnson is courageous

A tip of a hat and a wave of our flag for City Council member Glorious Johnson. It is so refreshing to see someone of her race step forward and involve herself in what so many of her race consider taboo.

The Confederate flag is a lot more than just the negative image the black race has against it.

If only more black leaders in the limelight would take steps to show the true meaning of this flag, the stigma would fade away, as it should.

Johnson has shown courage and a way for others to look beyond some past wrongs and seek togetherness for all of us in the South and this country.

This flag is not about hate. As Johnson says, it is heritage, and it should be treated as such.
