Dixie Outfitters Honors Memory Of Edward McGee

My name is Pam and I live in the large, but rural county of Fauquier, Virginia. Our community is rather close knit and this past weekend, a young man was killed in a car accident. He had many, many friends, most of which are very proud to call themselves a “redneck”.
Since his accident, there has been a coming together of the community like I have never seen. Many of the local high school students have gotten together every day to do something in his honor. They all got together and visited his Mom and family. They put flowers and candles at the site of the wreck and had a vigual in his memory. They went and picked up his four wheeler and brought it to a large parking lot where many big trucks (all proudly displaying the Rebel flag) filled with friends who wanted to wash his four wheeler for him. They are just trying to do anything they can to feel like they are helping.
Here is where your company in unknowingly involved. The parents of Edward McGee, along with many of his close friends have decided that they should all wear “Dixie Outfitters” shirts to the funeral. The viewing was last night and it was reported that there were nearly 1000 people in attendance. I went to the store to try to get one for my daughter, who was a good friend of the young man, but apparently all of the stores in the area are “sold out”, probably because of this unfortunate tragedy.
The funeral is this afternoon and already they are gathering together to arrive in a group at the funeral home. The funeral isn’t for almost two hours and there are already over 200 vehicles filled with those wanting to pay their respects, most of them wearing their Dixie Outfitters shirts!
I don’t know if this story is of use to you, but I feel better having let you know that your t-shirts are being proudly worn by a group of young high school kids on this day.
I also don’t know if your company does any kind of “donations” but the group is collecting funds to help the family pay for his funeral expenses. If you would like to make a contribution or to contact me for more information, please call me at 540-272-0296 or feel free to email me back.
Thank you and God Bless
Thanks for your email.
All of us here at Dixie Outfitters send our condolences to the family of the Edward McGee. Our hearts yearn to comfort those family members who have lost Edward. The death of a young person is absolutely the most tragic event that a parent can endure.
Our condolences also go out to the friends of Edward McGee who seek to honor his life by wearing Dixie Outfitters shirts to his funeral.
Our Confederate ancestors are looking down on us from heaven and I’m sure they are very proud of Edward and his friends. Edward and these young people have not forgotten the sacrifices, the bravery and the honor that was personified by the Confederate soldier as he gave his life to protect his family from the invading army’s of the North. There are no heros anywhere who are more deserving of glory and rememberance than the Confederate soldier.
We at Dixie Outfitters are thankful that we are able to be a part of honoring the memory of Edward.
We are posting a link to this email on "www.dixieoutfitters.com" front page for our community to read and share.
Please send me the address of the group collecting funds for the family as we would like to make a donation.
