Black Confederate Advocate Coming To Reidsville

Rockingham County’s Historical Preservation Action Committee (or HPAC) has announced that the former President of the Asheville, North Carolina, branch of the NAACP – now a Southern heritage activist – will appear in Reidsville on Wednesday…
H.K. Edgerton is known for a march from North Carolina to Texas to build awareness for Southern culture and history.
Ira Tilley – spokesman for the Historical Preservation Action Committee – said Edgerton’s appearance in Reidsville on Wednesday is – quote – “an exciting opportunity for the entire family to gain more knowledge and understanding regarding our country’s history.”
H.K.Edgerton, who lives in Asheville, will spend the day in downtown Reidsville.
Ira Tilley said Edgerton will be sharing his love of forgotten history.
He added that Edgetson’s message is a positive one and speaks of the heroics and sacrifices by all who served from a war that ended nearly 150 years ago.
H.K. Edgerton will be in downtown Reidsville from 8:00 a.m. till noon, then from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Tilley said the Hisporical Preservation Action Committee or HPAC would encourage the mayor, city council, state representatives, community leaders, ministerial alliances and all interested citizens to drop by and speak with Edgerton.
Edgerton serves on the board of directors of the Southern Legal Resource Center and is an associate member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
