The battle against the discrimination of our Southern children and for freedom of speech is continuing at Hawthorne High/Middle school in Hawthorne, Florida.
On August 28, 2009  principal Veita Jackson-Carter unilaterally and without cause imposed a ban on the Confederate Battle Flag at Hawthorne High/Middle School. In doing so, she violated the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and denied freedom of speech to her students.
After many emails and phone calls from Southern heritage supporters and various transparent attempts by Veita Jackson-Carter to put a good face on this blatant discrimination, Carter continued her ban of all Confederate symbols at Hawthorne High.
Since that time Dixie Outfitters has built and launched a web site dedicated to exposing Veita Jackson-Carter’s bigotry to the world. This site will act as a center for all those who oppose Veita Jackson-Carter’s ban.
We invite you to visit hawthorneheritage.org and join the fight for our Southern children who are proud of their family, ancestors and heritage.
Best Regards,
