Will it still be Forrest High in Duval County?

November 3, 2008

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – The Duval County School Board is taking up the issue of whether a high school should continue to bear the name of Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was a Confederate general, slave trader and early Ku Klux Klan leader.

The hotly debated issue is before the board Monday night in Jacksonville and board members have not given any indication how they will vote on the name change.

The board can change the name or leave it the same.
