Dionne maligns proud organization
 
Regarding the misinformation implicitly stated in the column of E.J. Dionne Jr. on Friday, the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) is a proud organization composed of male descendants of the veterans of the War Between The States, which is the official name of that conflict adopted by the SCV (“Democratic principles win Republican primary”).
 
Any male who can document their descendancy from a Confederate veteran may become a member. The SCV does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, etc. There are indeed black, Hispanic, Jewish and other ethnic members of the SCV nationwide. For Dionne to impugn the good name and character of this august organization is beyond the pale, and were he to have the integrity he probably likes to think he has, he would apologize to all SCV members as well as to the organization.
 
The SCV is committed to presenting the true history of why the Southern states legally, constitutionally seceded from the United States. After all, the winner gets to write the history, correct or not.
