Communication from the Jubal Early Camp SCV
General Order #1
This communication is directed to all full members and Friends of the Early Camp.
As members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans it is our individual responsibility and duty to honour our ancestors who defended the Southland against a superior force of men and supplies during the years 1861 – 1865. Part of this commitment involves displaying our colours whenever possible as a statement of our devotion to the cause for which they fought.
The disease known as political correctness knows no boundaries and the infection has invaded many Southern men and women including heritage organisations.
Be it known the Early Camp will not particpate in any event where Confederate Battle flags, National flags or Regimental flags are not permitted. The Battle flags include the Army of Northern Virginia, Army of Tennessee and Army of the Trans Mississippi .
Enacted this day, February 20, 2011.
"Nothing fills me with deeper sadness than to see a Southerner apologizing for the defence we made of our inheritance." President Jefferson Davis
Forward the Colours,
Mike Herring
