Boy, was I surprised yesterday when we got our local paper (Palestine Herald Press) It had a large color picture of our local SCV and Daughters of the Confederacy, honoring our Confederate soldiers at the cemetery in downtown Palestine. To further my surprise, there was a great article and two more pages of pictures of the Confederate Flags and the re-enactors in their Confederate Uniforms.
 
I wrote the editor and complimented her for running the story, and also sent her some Confederate history. Will wonders never cease? That was great! (The Palestine Herald Press was a very liberal sheet, but they lost nearly all of their circulation, and have become more in tune with us locals.
