Battle of Marianna, Florida on Sept. 25, 26, 27, 2009
A School Day/Living History program is planned for Friday from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm, with camp open to the public from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. A memorial service at the Marianna monument, a parade, a bluegrass festival, and two reenactment battles are scheduled for Saturday. The first reenactment will be held on the original battlefield in downtown Marianna at 10 a.m. with the second reenactment being held at 3 p.m. at the Citizens Lodge just north of Marianna. There will be cannon fire and pyrotechnics during the second battle. There is a $125 bounty for the first six cannons registering and one can of black powder for the first 200 cavalry or infantry rifles registering. Tent camping area, Campaigner camping area, wood, water, and hay will be provided at Citizens Lodge. Sutlers have been invited.
