Billy Bearden, (The Southern Son) Has Gone,
"Above and Beyond the Call of Duty" is only a phrase but he has given it new meaning!… We are forever indebted to him for his unending fight, for our Southern heroes, Heritage, Flags & that which is right.
It is ordered, that this testimonial there of shall be hereby made and this citation of honour be given to said, Billy Bearden, by the membership of Southern Heritage News & Views, The Southern American & Southern War Room’s prestigious Award of Honour.

PoP, Members of SHNV and SWR, Fellow Flaggers and Southern/Confederate Heritage Activists:
I am DEEPLY moved and overwhelmed at this Award. I am most appreciative of the show of love and support for my meager efforts.
I was a Flagger before I was SCV, so it is a special moment to be recognized like this by my own peers and peeps. While I have always had an affinity for the Confederate flag as far back as Jr High school, I began my role as a Georgia Flagger on January 29th, 2001 and have not looked back since.
Being an activist is my passion, one I would love thousands of others to share.
I am very honored to even be considered being included amongst the Giants of the movement, HK Edgerton, Jaime Funkhouser and Susan Hathaway.
I would like to use my time here to acknowledge I would not be anywhere near as successful had it not been for the tireless efforts of both Tommy ‘PoP’ Aaron and Charles ‘Chuck’ Demastus, who were
keeping us all alerted to Heritage Violations long before any Facebook pages or modern tech. My only regret is that these Gentlemen have yet to receive this prestigious Award and I hereby would nominate the 2 of them now. Seconds?
Again, I Thank Y’all from the bottom of my heart to the top of my Flagger pole.
