What a bucket of crap
From: tandpam@shawneelink.net
I am sure  it comes to no surprise to any here that the Selma city council voted to rename  Jeff Davis Avenue to J L Chesnut Boulevard in a vote 6 to 3.
Chesnut famous for being the cities first black lawyer, gained prominence as mouth piece for  some of the "Prestigious blacks of the Civil Rights Movement…" go figure.
To rob  anything named after President of the Confederate States of America, and rename it after some lawyer whose fame came  about  because of the colour of skin, along with  defending trouble makers and instigators of civil disobedience, clearly shows how civil rights, like tolerance is a one sided coin.
Never ever in my wildest dream as a former Bama boy, did I ever think that  the state so beloved to me would roll over gumptionless, and let the wishes and whims of a small minority of suits run amuck, with one purpose only in mind , erase everything connected with the CSA.
As far as I am concerned, they wish in one hand and spit in the other that all will be forgotten of my ancestors fight, there are some of us who will go to our graves makin’ sure they are remembered not erased.
What a bucket of crap this nation is becoming.
