The video, titled “Unapologetically Southern,” quickly went viral. On “Fox and Friends Weekend,” Prather said that the South and Southern heritage are often ostracized and mocked. “It’s pretty easy to stereotype folks from the South,” Prather said. “They hear a dialect and they hear a slang and they want to make fun of it.” He explained that he used his YouTube channel to respond and state what the South is really all about, including self-respect, discipline and respect for other people. “With the world being as small as it is, I think it’s necessary that we learn to embrace other cultures,” Prather said. “You see the differences and you don’t hate them, you don’t stereotype them. Video: Mississippi State Flag Initiative Could End Up on Ballot BY EMILY CASSULO · OCTOBER 1, 2015 JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) — A group of Mississippi residents is fighting to have the confederate emblem removed from the state flag.   Supporters gathered enough signatures to get Mississippi Initiative Number 55 on the ballot, and Attorney General Jim Hood approved the signatures, Thursday.   55 is a state ballot initiative to amend the state constitution and remove the confederate battle emblem from the Mississippi state flag.   Sponsor Sharon Brown released a statement, saying “We are one important step closer to giving the citizens of Mississippi the opportunity to have their voice heard on this important issue.”   Brown says the group will announce their next steps on October 9.   http://www.wcbi.com/local-news/mississippi-state-flag-initiative-could-end-up-on-ballot/
